The story is terrible. The whole thing is unbelievable. I don't mean vampires are unbelievable, this scenario is totally ridiculous.
The two lead characters are wooden. Might as well be watching a tree. The wolves are more interesting and even more believable. Thankfully, the grand kids have moved on to other interests now.

What can I say about Twilight? Edward this, Edward that, Robert Pattinson here and there. So after watching Vampire Diaries I got curious and started watching Twilight.
Within 20 minutes I was hooked. Can't let go anymore, ordered the books, ordered all the movies there are and following everything now very closely.
I actually feel a bit empty inside when I'm done watching, so I start from the beginning again haha! I love the story, the special effects in the movie, it's just such a great big love.
You shouldn't overthink it all too much. I know people are saying well how stupid is that, she has to die in order to be with him, he is too protective and overbearing.
But don't look at that. Look at why she wants to become a vampire and why he acts around her the way he does.
It's their love. And that love is amazing and I would wish for everybody in the world. So read the books, watch the movies.

I am not a teen by a long way, but find these very worth watching, and keeping to watch again in future. On its own not the worst film in the world but compare it to the book it's a bit rubbish.
If you have read the books first like I don't bother with this film adaption, in comparison to the book its dark and broody lacking any of the humour in the book and failing to put in some of the most entertaining parts of the book.
I thought Robert Pattinson was a dreadful choice to play Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart was just irritating most of the time, at best. The only good thing about this film was the soundtrack, for me it is always book first with the exception of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Dead Calm by Charles Williams, I preferred their film adaptions.
This is the story of Bella Swan. She used to live in Phoenix with her mum and her stepfather, but decided to move in a small town in Washington called Forks to try to live with her father for a bit.
Bella, 17, feels different from the other students, and this is noticeable even by just looking at her features: Extremely pale and beautiful in a different way than other girls.
At her school, a family called the Cullens are different. They are all extremely pale and beautiful. They are adopted by the beautiful blond doctor in town and his wife.
The family consists of Dr. Bella and Edward are attracted to each other straight away. The film is very nice, but I have to say that the 4 books from Stephanie Meyer are amazing.
Bella senses that Edward is different from her, because of his eye colour changing to gold and black, his speed and strength.
She then researches and learns that he is a vampire, as well as his family. He warns her to stay away from him, but they can't.
Edward and his family are different than others because they don't feed on human blood, but hunt animals instead. They don't want to be "monsters".
However, there are other vampires who are just killers, or more precisely: "trackers". Edward and Alice have a power. He can read people thoughts except Bella's , and Alice has visions of the future.
They can go out during the day, but prefer bad weather, because when it's sunny their skin glows like diamonds and everyone would notice that they don't look natural, hence not human.
Bella is not scared because she knows that Edward would never hurt her as well as his family. For Edward it's hard to be too close to Bella, such as kissing her for example, because she's like "his own personal brand of heroin" as he says.
It's hard for him, because he would like to drink her blood, but at the same time he loves her. At the end of the film, Bella is still with Edward and would like to be an immortal as well so that they could be 17 and together forever.
He asks her if one lifetime is not enough for her, and she replies that for the moment she can live with that. The film explores sexual tension for teenagers very well.
It's also a very modern film about friendly vampires as we haven't seen since a long time. Maybe a bit in "Interview with a vampire", or in Buffy, but it's still very different.
I recommend it, but if you can, read the 4 books first even if they seem huge, they are amazing and you will read them very quickly as they are extremely entertaining.

The deep love and fascination between Bella and Edward is vague and you have to guess how she's feeling and Edward Robert Pattinson - may he find his way to my pillow as a vampire!
If it's true that he was toned down against his wishes - BIG mistake! Kristen Stewart can be irritating when she shows so little emotion, she obviously needs to learn how to open her mouth when she speaks and Edward shins up the most amazing trees with Bella on his back - obviously totally forgetting that she is supposed to be not only accident prone but really scared of the great outdoors!
A little more attention to developing the strange obsessesional love story might have helped. The actors are well chosen Kristen Stewart is exactly as I imagined Bella - although I'm not too sure about the Carlisle choice - and its just a shame that the screenplay wasn't better.
Pity because its a brilliant story - but I shall look out for the other films as I am now hooked on the Twilight series.
Hopefully the screenwriting will improve. As I say don't expect too much - watch the dvd as something removed from the book - if you've already read it - and you'll enjoy it.

I liked the film, but I am going to focus mainly on the bonus features of this 2-disc set. If you enjoyed the film then the bonus disc is definitely worth watching.
The extended scenes include a longer sequence of Bella and Edward lying in the meadow. You don't know how it's tortured me,' Edward tells Bella, who replies 'I'd rather die than stay away from you.
I don't understand why they didn't put it in the movie because it really captures the 'essence' of the book, as well as the relationship and chemistry between Bella and Edward.
There are 2 deleted scenes of Bella and Edward. The first is a slightly different scene of when Bella dreams of Edward. She 'wakes up', sees him standing at the foot of her bed, reaches over and kisses him, before waking up for real, sees him standing there, puts the light on and then he's gone.
The second contains the famous line 'Bella, your number was up the first day I met you. When a fan asks if anything spontaneous happened during filming, the director Catherine Hardwicke shares with the audience that when Kristen and Robert were rehearsing the kiss scene, Rob got a little passionate and fell off the bed.
The audio commentary could have been a bit more informative about the filming process. Catherine Hardwicke occasionally says things like: 'Rob, you're looking pretty buff in this scene,' which I thought was hilarious.
Basically, if you saw the movie and thought there could have been more Bella and Edward, and left the theatre feeling short-changed because you could see the chemistry but felt it wasn't developed properly, I would recommend this edition for the extended footage and deleted scenes.
OK, so it might not have made the final cut, but you can still watch it and obsess over it. I'm a 26 year old straight guy and I loved this film, well all of them so far.
Several of my friends have read the books and films, they recommended them to me so I thought I would give this film a try.
I will say that Twilight the film has changed quite a few bits from the book, certain things are left out I won't give specific spoilers , though I guess that's true of all of the films so far I watched eclipse in the cinema yesterday and loved it, I'm only at the beginning of the book but I can already see things have been changed which I think would have made for an even better film, but hey it was still awesome too me.
Well worth a watch if you like a broad range of films, great characters, a different than usual take on vampires.
Overall it has a good story, believable actors, kept me glued the whole way through, I can fully understand why it's loved by so many people.
The only negative for me is that the film didn't follow the book totally, I would say the film is a good companion to the book and makes the story more real.
If you have a HD set up I recommend getting this on Blu Ray, although DVD upscaled still looks pretty good, just much softer, with less detail and crispness.
I watched this film before I read the book and really enjoyed it. However it seemed a bit lacking so I thought I'd give the books a whirl. A few days and much missed sleep later I've read all 4 of the Twilight saga and am a confirmed fan.
However on returning to the film it is now evident how much better it could have been. Much of the story and scenes have been tweaked and changed, including the best and most pivotal scene in the book in the meadow for those of you in the know.
Edward and Bella's intense and complicated relationship is not really built up in the film, and watching it a second time in places it is actually a bit bizarre, and others downright wrong.
