I have lost count of how many Settlements I have " must be at least 20 ", and I enjoy Building them, but the Raids against them " on the odd occassion they happen " just seem wrong, you get a message saying defend a Settlement and you fast travel and spawn outside the Settelment, most of the time right in the Middle of the Instantly Spawned enemy.
Where if it was done correctly you would Spawn in the Settlement and in 60 Seconds the Enemy start attacking from a Distance and make there way towards the Settlement.
Last edited by Hellrazer ; 5 Dec, pm. I've encountered the spawn into the midst of the enemy battle thing a few times now and I think I know a good fix.
Build the spawn point-plate and put it off to the side or a ways off so whenever you go to whichever place, you'll spawn in more discretely and not surrounded.

However, it's likey because you've built too much or you're experiencing the same issue I did. What you need to do is run on foot without fast traveling accross the map, go inside a building and wait 24 hours.

The only thing I found out so far is, the lower I set the view distance the closer I get to the workbench. Still crashes, if I talk to the one settler that is reachable and it also crashes if I try to open the building menu.
Tried without mods, reinstalled the game, lowered the graphics settings I won't start a new game as I'm already eight an a half days in.
It didn't crash at first, later started crashing rarely when building. Then suddenly, I couldn't get to Sanctuary anymore at all. Well, parts of it with minimal view distance, but that doesn't help much.
Since nothing helped and even the "scrapall" command crashed my game instantly, I tried Cell Ripper [www. That worked and, to my surprise, all named npcs and even my power armor frames were still there.
So I'll lose a bunch of stuff, but at least the settlement can be accessed again. Nullpage View Profile View Posts.
If anyone reads this, I believe I have found a solution. This is exactly what I did and it teleported me to Sanctuary, and I have just spent about 5 minutes wandering around talking to people and no lag or crashing has happened.

After hours of searching google with no joy, coc sanctuaryext fixed my game. I can build again, thank you so much. There are a few of these, so just do a run around the outside of the town, including at the very end of the cul-de-sac, to locate them all.
Red Rocket would likely be a better pick than Sanctuary, but some of the other settlements are even smaller, making it easier to find Dogmeat once you need him again.
