Other than that, far better than modern Capitol reissues IMO. I also just acquired a new stylus that hasn't quite broken in yet, nor do I think it would be the optimal stylus for a mono release anyway.

It's pretty bad in the early parts. Not my setup, I use Ortofon black and have no issues with any other records I own.
This version has relatively bright and clear instruments and vocals, and for the price isn't bad at all. However, it also is a g release, and this is not stated anywhere on the packaging.
This could be affecting the playback for people very particular with their systems, especially if going back-and-forth with a standard-weight vinyl version.
I would recommend this version if you aren't willing to spend up and get one from Analogue Productions, although for an album like Pet Sounds, that is definitely one you want to spend up on, so I would recommend that above all and also in stereo.
I do agree with others on the physical quality of this pressing: it is complete garbage. Straight out of the shrink wrap with plastic filaments, hair, scratches, and grease smears.

Here's a little audio clip of one of the most troublesome areas. Maybe it's a bit too much for the cartridge or I need to turn the preamp down although my preamp isn't lighting up red so that means it's actually not getting distorted.
Note how the drum hit near the end sounds especially. Edit: After listening to some comparable YouTube videos of the mono vinyl releases, I have concluded that this is probably not an Analogue Productions issue, but an issue with the master recordings.
